The Allt, a remarkable Bed and Breakfast guest-house that was a cottage prior to 1675, is named after the the prominent ridge, Allt Yr Esgair, that guards the beautiful and fertile Usk Valley, is known to have been built before 1706. It provides ideal B&B accommodation for walkers and cyclists who wish to explore the many wonderful paths, trails and routes in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is only ½ mile from Talybont-on-Usk, a fascinating village on the
Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal that also lies on the famous Taff Trail, the Beacons Way and the Usk Valley Walk. Talybont-on-Usk is a small village, remarkable for having a fine restaurant and three outstanding pubs.
